MedTech Europe

MedTech Europe is an alliance of European medical technology industry associations established to represent the common policy interests of its members more effectively and efficiently.  Members have adopted the Code of Ethical Business Practice, which is intended to provide guidance as to the minimum standards which should apply to its members’ business practices in Europe and, generally, elsewhere. It is not intended to supplant or supersede national laws or regulations or other professional or business codes (including company codes) which may apply to its members.  Click HERE to read more on the MedTech Code of Ethical Business Practice.

Healthcare Professional Spend Disclosure:

As a reminder to all healthcare professionals, by participating in our event, you may receive certain benefits or transfers of value from us (e.g., meals, lodging, travel).   Under local, national, and international regulations, we may be required to disclose such transfers of value. Therefore, by registering and/or signing-in at an event, you will be considered an attendee for all transfers of value for the day. In the event a surgeon trainee cancels his/her attendance, and an item of value is permanently transferred to the trainee (e.g., an airline ticket credit available for use at a later date), MicroPort reserves the right to directly bill the surgeon trainee for the amount of value transferred. MicroPort is committed to following the MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice and therefore we cannot pay for the meals, refreshments, travel or other expenses for guests of Health Care Professionals or for any other person without a bona fide professional interest in the information shared at this course.  Please limit attendance at GMPS to Health Care Professionals only.

Healthcare Professional Duty and “Opt Out Procedures”:

Healthcare Professionals have a duty to assure compliance with the standards set forth by their employer, hospital(s), teaching institution, licensing boards, state, or national laws.  If necessary, MicroPort Orthopedics will allow you to “opt out” of receiving transfers of value associated with this meeting.  Please contact learn@ortho.microport.com ahead of your travel to discuss payment arrangements and meeting logistics.
