Dr. Darren Chen is a specialist knee surgeon, director of Sydney Knee Specialists, and co-supervisor of the SKS knee fellowship. He has a special interest in all aspects of arthroplasty surgery, including robotic knee surgery, complex primary and revision knee surgery, hip replacement surgery and arthroscopic reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Chen has an uncompromising commitment for excellence, collaborating with like-minded thought leaders in the pursuit to better understand and define the intricacies of knee surgery. Active in the production of high-quality clinical research, Dr. Chen has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Chen is currently involved in prosthetic design and development, and innovations in robotic knee surgery.

Dr. Chen is an honours graduate in Medicine from the University of Sydney. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2004 and was admitted as Fellow to the Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOrthA) in 2005. Dr Chen was Clinical Fellow in Lower Limb Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto Canada in 2005. He was the International Arthroplasty Fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston USA in 2006.
Dr. Chen is a member of the Australian Knee Society (AKS), Arthroplasty Society of Australia (ASA), Australian Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons (ASOS), International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS), and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
