Dr. Hiroyoshi Iwaki is director of Osaka Orthopedic Hospital and known as the premier surgeon for Joint replacement surgery in Japan.
He graduated from Osaka Municipal hospital in 1991. From 1996-1999, he was Research fellow od Osteoarticular Research Group, Dept. of Histopathology, Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in London and learned about Medial-Pivot Knee design principals directly from Dr. Freeman. In 2000, he published “ Tibio-Femoral Movement 1: The shapes and relative movements of the femur and tibia in the unloaded cadaver knee: Studied by dissection and MRI” ( J Bone Joint Surg (Br) 2000; 82-B:1189-1195.) and showed Medial-Pivoting Kinematics in normal knee.
After coming back Japan, he and his university group expanded Medial-Pivot Knee concept and he is one of the biggest contributor for our Medial-Pivot knee system in Japan.
In this symposium, he will present us the benefit of Medial-Pivot Knee System based on his 2,000 cases of Evolution Medial-Pivot TKA experiences.
